The Faculty of Asia School of Business invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Macroeconomics and Finance, including Financial Stability, at all levels.

Asia School of Business (ASB) – a partnership between the Central Bank of Malaysia and MIT Sloan School of Management – was founded in 2015, in Kuala Lumpur, and has been recognized as having the most innovative MBA program in the world today by Poets & Quants. At ASB, we offer a multicultural and intellectually stimulating environment for scholars across different disciplines thanks to our commitment to people, ideas, and talent. We promote high-impact and actionable academic research and embrace scholarship from multiple disciplinary perspectives.

All faculty members spend a summer as International Faculty Fellows at MIT Sloan focusing on teaching and research capabilities development under the guidance of an MIT Sloan faculty host and retain their MIT affiliations afterwards. ASB offers an internationally competitive compensation package, a very manageable teaching load, plus generous research funding, and strong teaching support staff.

We favor applicants who can demonstrate the capacity for exceptional research achievement – particularly empirical research – and the ability to teach effectively in the Master of Central Banking (MCB), MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education Programs. As a school, our goal is to develop transformative and principled leaders who will contribute to a better future and advance the emerging world. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong interest in Southeast Asia and/or experience in the region, and an interest in supporting/advising students’ experiential learning through group and individual “Action Learning” projects in partner companies, which is a distinguishing feature of our MBA program.

Interested candidates are invited to email: (1) a cover letter, (2) a current CV, (3) a research statement, (4) a recent research paper, (5) a teaching statement and/or evidence of teaching effectiveness, and (6) contact information for two referees, who will provide letters of recommendation, to bianca.gomez@asb.edu.my.

All application materials should be received by 11:59PM on Monday, 4 January, 2021 (Malaysia Time, UTC +8). For any questions, please contact bianca.gomez@asb.edu.my.

The School is in a new, fit-for-purpose campus, located in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur, on the grounds of Bank Negara Malaysia’s modern and well-equipped knowledge and learning center. The latest Mercer Quality of Living Index placed cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur as Southeast Asia’s second most livable city.
