Full Text of JOE Listing:

J-PAL’s Gender and Economic Agency (GEA) Initiative is looking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research as part of GEA with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The postdoctoral associate will work with GEA co-chair Lori Beaman (Northwestern University) on re-processing and re-analyzing data in existing labor and employment RCTs to identify gender-specific trends and will write up these results in working papers and policy briefs. Other duties may include supervising Initiative staff and participating in the organization of events and seminars. Approximately an equal share of the postdoc’s research efforts will be devoted to J-PAL GEA-related projects and to independent research projects.

The position offers the opportunity to join a research partnership with a strong track record of high-quality publication and policy impact; is likely to lead to several co-authored papers; and is designed to help the selected candidate launch a successful academic career with a strong research pipeline.
