invites applications for a tenure track full-time position at the rank of

Assistant Professor of

Economics With Specialization In International Trade

starting on 1 September 2021 or a mutually agreed-upon date.

The Graduate Institute is seeking to recruit an academic economist at the rank of assistant professor, specialised in international trade with a focus on empirical work. The successful candidate will join the Department of International Economics.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Economics and demonstrate excellence in research, through completed projects and a promising research agenda. Post-doctoral research experience is not required but considered a strong asset. Applications from candidates already holding a position of Assistant Professor in another institution are also welcome.

The successful candidate will teach postgraduate courses and supervise master’s dissertations and PhD theses in the Department of International Economics. They may also be called upon to teach classes and supervise master’s dissertations in interdisciplinary programmes as well as contribute to executive education programmes. The candidate should be interested in interdisciplinary dialogue.

The teaching language is either English or French. Prior knowledge of French is not required, but the successful candidate is expected to acquire a passive knowledge of it within two years of being hired.

The Institute reserves the right to fill this position by invitation at any time. Interviews will be held in early January.

Candidates are required to submit a CV, a Job Market Paper, a Research Statement, a Teaching Statement and a Cover Letter. Other samples of research work are welcome but not required. Three reference letters are needed.
