Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Economics program at the United States Military Academy, West Point welcomes applications at the Assistant or advanced Assistant Professor level. An ideal applicant is interested in teaching small classes in a liberal arts environment while pursuing an active research agenda. We are looking for candidates who are interested in teaching undergraduate microeconomics, macroeconomics, or finance. We are open to candidates with various research agendas, including applied microeconomics.

West Point, located just an hour north of New York City, is a highly ranked liberal arts college whose primary mission is to prepare its graduates to serve as officers in the United States Army. Faculty within the economics program have the potential to partner with the Office of Economic and Manpower Analysis, an analytical organization for the U.S. Army that houses rich administrative data related to health, family, education, financial, and career outcomes of soldiers and veterans.

Preliminary interviews will be conducted online during the AEAs. This full-time appointment will start in July 2020 and a Ph.D. must be completed at that time. U.S. Citizens and noncitizens with allegiance to the United States may apply. (Non-citizens cannot be hired if U.S. citizens are available.) Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
