Full Text of JOE Listing:

The University of Chicago is seeking to appoint multiple world-leading early career researchers. These postdoctoral positions are part of a collaboration with The John Mitchell Economics of Poverty Lab, located within the Research School of Economics at the Australian National University (ANU). The John Mitchell Economics of Poverty Lab, established by ANU College of Business & Economics alumnus John Mitchell, aims to have world-wide impact by increasing our understanding of poverty and generating policies to alleviate it. The Post-doctoral Scholars will work on a number of research projects as part of the lab, reporting to Professor Michael Price at the ANU, and Professor John List, working alongside and in collaboration with his team at the University of Chicago.

Postdoctoral Scholars will spend the majority of their time at the University of Chicago, with visits to the ANU to establish new research partnerships (pending travel restrictions), design and conduct field experiments, and strengthen their research pipeline before starting tenure track faculty positions. During their time at the University of Chicago, they are closely integrated in John List's experimental economics group. Postdoctoral scholars are highly encouraged to build on existing projects within the Lab, as well as starting their own research agendas.

There are no teaching or administrative obligations. The term for the position is up to two years. Applicants with research interests in applied microeconomics and experience in conducting field experiments will be given priority.
