The University of Texas at San Antonio Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in applied econometrics. A Ph.D. in Economics (or a related area) is required by the start date in August 2021.
There is a preference for areas like labor, health, industrial organization, or public economics. Candidates who match university's initiatives for collaborative and interdisciplinary research in cross-cutting areas, including data analytics and machine learning, community health and public policy, or supply chains and cyber security, are preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong potential for publishing in top field or general-interest journals and for teaching successfully a graduate course containing applied econometrics. Teaching load for Assistant Professors is 2-1.
The successful candidate will be expected: to pursue research grants when feasible, to develop a course in their research field at the undergraduate or graduate level, to participate in departmental service activities, and to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population in support of the University’s commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.
