The University of Puget Sound invites applications for a social scientist of contemporary China with expertise in one or more of the following areas related to Chinese society:

International Economy and Trade
Regional and Border Relations
Environmental Studies
Social and Technological Change.

We seek an outstanding teacher-scholar with a deep interest in/and commitment to interdisciplinary study, liberal arts, and specializes in the study of contemporary China. This new endowed tenure-line appointment will be made at the assistant professor level in the Asian Studies Program and in the appropriate academic department: Business and Leadership, Economics, International Political Economy, and Sociology and Anthropology.

Qualifications: PhD preferred. Required: advanced ABD considered in a social science discipline and a commitment to liberal arts education. Chinese language proficiency sufficient to conduct research in Mandarin, strongly preferred.
