The Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is currently recruiting for a 1-year post-doc or a multi-year visiting position for a more advanced candidate. A permanent position may also be considered for an outstanding new Ph.D. applicant. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research, present research at professional meetings, and publish research in professional journals and the department's Working Paper series. The Economist/Sr. Economist will also brief and counsel Bank officials as needed. Research areas of interest include macro and monetary economics, banking, finance, contract theory, industrial organization, consumer finance, urban economics, labor economics and applied econometrics.
