The Department of Economics at Suffolk University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in economics at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2021. Faculty responsibilities for this position include a total teaching load of five courses per academic year, advancing a productive research and publication agenda, advising students, and actively contributing to the department, college, and university through participation in shared governance and other service activities.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Economics or closely-related field (completed by July 1, 2021), and a research record in one or more areas of applied microeconomics (including, but not limited to, the economics of health, labor, energy, transportation, or urban economics). The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach courses such as Applied Microeconomics, Managerial Economics, and elective field courses, as well as courses to support the University’s first-year general education curriculum (as needed). Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated college/university teaching excellence in courses they have taught themselves, and who show promise of versatility in teaching.
