The Directorate General Research of the European Central Bank (ECB) is interested in hiring economists with a PhD in economics or finance. We may also share your application with hiring managers in the ECB’s Directorate General Economics, Directorate General International and European Relations and Directorate General Monetary Policy.


Job Description
The Directorate General Research has two main responsibilities: (i) conducting research in all areas of interest to central banks, such as macroeconomics, monetary and international economics, financial intermediation and financial markets, labour economics, macroeconometrics, and economics of climate change; and (ii) providing research-based policy advice in these areas, applying conceptual frameworks and macroeconomic models to policy analysis.

Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and publish high-quality research and to actively contribute to our policy work.

Qualifications
You must have a PhD in economics or finance or a related field, or be approaching the completion of your PhD programme.
