Candidates must have strong applied research and interpersonal skills. U.S. citizenship is required.

Since 2011, GAO has received top ranking among mid-size federal agencies for best workplace and support of diversity. GAO seeks a work environment where all employees are valued, treated fairly, and given opportunities to develop to their full potential.

Economists in the Center have the flexibility to work with all of GAO’s public policy teams across all sectors of the economy and government. The Center seeks economists across all fields with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
