Title: Assistant Professor (Behavioral Economist)

This tenure track position falls under the U.S. Military Academy’s Character Development and Integration Directorate that works directly for the Superintendent and is accountable for the Character Development Program, integrating the character development activities from all developmental programs, and monitoring the Culture of Character Growth. West Point, located just an hour north of New York City along the Hudson River, is rated among the nation's most elite undergraduate institutions and is the only college charged with preparing young men and women for service as officers in the United States Army.

A completed PhD in Economics is preferred at the time of appointment. Candidates will ideally have research interests in the areas of behavioral economics and education. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to and promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching as well as the ability to complete high quality academic research. Applicants with managerial experience in government or research settings will receive special consideration. An ideal applicant is someone who enjoys working in a collegial environment, teaching small classes at the undergraduate level, and using data analytics to conduct behavioral assessments.
