To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of School of Economics at Jinan University, and to accelerate the development of economics disciplines, the School of Economics (SOE) and the Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) at Jinan University warmly invite applications for tenure-track faculty positions in all fields of economics. We offer several full-time endowed positions at the assistant, associate and full professor level. Top young scholars from world renown university or eminent professors worldwide are especially welcome to apply for the positions.

We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including competitive salary, research funds, housing allowances, plus standard fringe benefits. Candidates for the endowed assistant professor should have a Ph.D. in hand or firmly expected.

About School of Economics (SOE)
School of Economics at Jinan University was founded in 1980 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. For over a century, JNU’s economics discipline has more than 40,000 alumni in over 100 countries and regions around the world. Currently, the SOE is composed of 5 departments and 1 research institute, including Department of Economics, Department of Finance, Department of Statistics, Department of International Economy and Trade, Department of Finance and Taxation, and Research Institute of Special Zone, Hong Kong and Macao Economy. With a team of 146 faculty, SOE offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. programs in economics.

About Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR)
IESR was established at Jinan University in December 2015 and operates under the leadership of internationally renowned scholars with Yangtze River Scholar Professor Shuaizhang Feng as the Dean and Professor James Heckman as the Chairman of the Advisory Board. We currently have 43 full-time faculty members in all major fields of economics.

IESR is dedicated to the following goals:
• Developing China-based research programs in applied economics and other fields;
• Collecting original survey data related to China’s economic and social development;
• Building a leading Chinese think tank that could inform and influence national policymaking;
• Guiding our students to become future leaders in economic and social research;
• Facilitating academic exchanges between scholars in China and abroad.
