Full Text of JOE Listing:

Professor David Cutler of Harvard University and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) leads an on-going research project funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) aimed at providing evidence on the impact of integrated health systems on treatments and clinical and economic outcomes. Pending approval from AHRQ, this project will be extended through August 2021 and will be expanded to incorporate novel research questions germane to the COVID19 pandemic (e.g., Are large organized systems better equipped to handle crises or are smaller provider groups able to respond more nimbly? To the extent that there are response differences, what do they imply for policy?).

To support this work, Dr. Cutler is seeking to hire one or two full-time Programmers.

Working primarily with the project’s Health Systems and Provider Database, a unique and robust resource that is critical and fundamental to the project’s research strategy, the Programmer will perform a variety of essential data management and quantitative analytic functions necessitating sophisticated understanding of data, a high level of programming skill, and expertise in data management and compliance with security and privacy procedures.
