Full Text of JOE Listing:
Professor David Cutler of Harvard University and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) leads an on-going research project funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) aimed at providing evidence on the impact of integrated health systems on treatments and clinical and economic outcomes. Pending approval from AHRQ, this project will be extended through August 2021 and will be expanded to incorporate novel research questions germane to the COVID19 pandemic (e.g., Are large organized systems better equipped to handle crises or are smaller provider groups able to respond more nimbly? To the extent that there are response differences, what do they imply for policy?).
To support this work, Professor Cutler is seeking to hire one or two full-time Research Specialists.
The ideal candidate will have (i) a strong quantitative background, (ii) strong computer skills including programming, and (iii) be able to work independently. Prior research assistant experience is strongly preferred. The job is ideal for someone with an enthusiasm for empirical research, and the ability and interest to learn new skills and take initiative as a project develops.
