The Jackson Institute for Global Affairs seeks to appoint a postdoctoral research associate for the academic year 2020-21, renewable for 2021-22.

The position involves working on the Jackson Institute’s Governing Global Capitalism research initiative with Professor Kenneth Scheve. Responsibilities will vary but likely include assisting with the design and implementation of original surveys, data collection and management, assistance in archival research, data analysis, and grant writing. There will also be substantial opportunities for the postdoc to pursue their own research projects, participate in collaborative research, and take advantage of the intellectual life at the Jackson Institute and related departments. Technical skills such as computer programming are highly desirable as is some coursework in political economy. Excellent organizational skills, extensive experience using computer databases and statistical software, and coursework in statistical methods are essential. Project management experience is a plus.

Proof of completion of doctoral degree is required before starting the position and the start date must be no more than three years after degree conferral. There is some flexibility with the start date if necessary to complete PhD.
