The Gwartney Institute for Freedom, Justice, and Human Flourishing (GI) is seeking to fill a tenure-track, 12 month appointment as associate or assistant professor position to help lead the institute in its mission to create a unique scholarly and educational environment for the examination and study of economic freedom and social justice, and their role in the advancement of human flourishing. The Institute will promote clarity in the understanding of both economic freedom and social justice, communicating their contribution to more purposeful, creative, and satisfying lives.

The Institute will consider candidates with a doctorate in economics, finance, business, or law (or any closely related doctorate field with a master's degree in economics). The candidate should ideally have an interest in publishing in the areas of economic freedom and/or social justice and be interested in how the Christian faith and other religions interact with those areas -see our weekly podcast faith and economics. This person will be an effective teacher; strong in both public speaking and writing.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be speaking engagements, Institute activities/events, instruction at the university, help with student recruitment, and publications with both popular and scholarly outlets. Please visit GwartneyInstitute.org for more information.
