Public Policy is one of the five new strategic areas identified by HKUST for its future development. The Division of Public Policy (PPOL), under the Interdisciplinary Programs Office (IPO), was established in 2017 to spearhead this effort through the development of interdisciplinary policy research and rigorous policy training programs. We would like to invite applicants for substantiation-track faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor) in the field of public management and leadership.

Successful candidates should have a relevant PhD degree and an outstanding track record of research and publication in public administration, management, public policy and other relevant fields. We especially welcome applicants in the following three research areas: (i) science and technology (innovation) policy; (ii) social and urban policy; and (iii) environmental, energy, and sustainability policy.

Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits. Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. Appointment at Professor rank will be on substantive basis. Initial appointment at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor rank will normally be made on a three-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
