Position Overview:

The Department of Economics at Boise State University invites applications for 2 full-time Lecturer positions starting Fall 2020. The successful applicant is expected to teach both online and face-to-face undergraduate economics courses, have a commitment to high quality teaching, and engage in university and community service. Courses will include principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, as well as intermediate microeconomics and other upper division courses as needed. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester. The successful applicant must relocate to Boise, Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in economics
At least two years of experience teaching face-to-face economics courses
Experience teaching at the university level

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in economics
Demonstrated track record of successful teaching of large sections (class size greater than 150)
Demonstrated ability to develop and teach online courses using best practice strategies
Demonstrated track record of successful teaching of intermediate microeconomics and/or upper division courses.
Academic research (i.e., publications) or professional experience outside of academia is also valued

Lecturer I level:

Master’s degree with less than four years Contractual Experience.

Lecturer II Level:

Master’s degree with four or more years Contractual Experience, or terminal degree within one’s discipline with less than four years Contractual Experience.

Lecturer III Level:

Terminal degree within one’s discipline and four years of Contractual Experience, or Master’s degree with more than eight years of contractual Experience.
