D90: Micro-Based Behavioral Economics: General

The Department of Economics invites applications for a postdoctoral position. The initial duration of the position will be for two years, with an extension to a third year possible, subject to mutual agreement. This position requires a Ph.D. in economics or closely related field. The appointment will begin August 2020.

Up to one-half of the postdoctoral appointment will involve managing the Vernon Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory at Purdue University. The lab manager will be responsible for the overall coordination of the lab space. This includes assisting faculty and graduate students in scheduling experimental sessions, and managing research assistants to help with data collection. The lab manager will also help researchers plan and design studies, develop and test software, manage the subject pool and lab emails, and coordinate with local IT staff to ensure hardware is maintained and software is installed. The other half of the appointment will be used to conduct the candidate’s own research, including potential collaboration with department faculty and graduate students.
