The Department of Economics at the University of Missouri-Columbia invites applications from scholars with expertise in empirical microeconomics/education policy for a Postdoctoral Fellow position with an appointment for up to 3 years. The search process will emphasize the potential to conduct research leading to high-level academic publications in applied microeconomic fields. Candidates are expected to have strong quantitative backgrounds suitable for applied research and experience working with large datasets. Previous education-related research (e.g., on economics of education and/or education policy) will be viewed positively, but is not necessary. Strong written and communication skills are important.
The responsibilities for the Postdoctoral position include:
1) Program-directed research on applied topics, likely in the areas of economics of education and education policy. The Fellow is expected to be a key contributor and coauthor on program-directed projects.
2) Self-directed research.
3) Teaching in the Fellow’s area of expertise or a related area (initially up to 2 courses per year).
The Fellowship is open to candidates who have earned or will earn their PhD by September 1st, 2020. We will begin reviewing applications starting on January 8th and continue to review applications until the position is filled.
