We are looking for 3 highly talented recent graduates with a postgraduate degree, preferably a PhD, for the ECB’s Graduate Programme in Economics.

The Graduate Programme offers you excellent development opportunities, valuable research and policy work experience and an insight into the ECB’s tasks and working methods. It could be your starting point for an exciting career at the ECB.

We will give you challenging one-year assignments in up to three different business areas, matched to your fields of expertise and your interests – which you can indicate during the application process.
Your assignments can be in the following business areas at the ECB: Economics, Monetary Policy, International & European Relations and Research.

We will assign you an experienced colleague as a mentor to provide you with support, advice and guidance on participating successfully in the programme. You will also get a tailor-made training programme that includes a number of in-house and external training opportunities.

Application Instructions:
You must have a master’s degree or PhD in Economics or a related field completed between 1 February 2018 and 31 January 2020; alternatively you may be due to complete a PhD in 2020 (in this case the master’s degree can have been obtained before 1 February 2018). Candidates with a PhD, or who will obtain their PhD in 2020, will have a distinct advantage.

- A CV;
- A sample of recent research;
- At least one reference;
- An application letter indicating whether you will attend the European Job Market for Economists (EJM) in Rotterdam in December 2019.
