The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position, with an expected start date of July 1, 2020.

We anticipate hiring a candidate with expertise relevant to the economics of agriculture and natural resources in developed and developing countries. Fields of interest include environmental economics, natural resources, energy, international trade, applied econometrics and data science, labor, development, industrial organization and public finance, among others. We look for candidates who able to take advantage of our location in the College of Natural Resources, with excellent faculty in complementary disciplines.

We seek candidates with a strong interest in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and evidence of high productivity in policy-relevant, theoretically sound, and empirically grounded research in the theoretical or applied economic analysis of issues relating to agricultural and natural resource economics.

Basic Qualifications: Candidates must have completed all Ph.D. or equivalent international degree requirements, except the dissertation, at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent international degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related area, is preferred by the appointment start date.
