Assistant Professor - Policy Analysis and Management
Cornell University

The Department of Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University seeks an applied microeconomist working at the intersection of Data Science methodology and policy-relevant research. This tenure-track (new or advanced) Assistant Professor position will have responsibilities of 50% research and 50% teaching and advising. The ideal candidate will have contemporary Data Science methods as an integral part of their research portfolio, including either use or development of cutting edge methods. Their research will be motivated by substantive, policy-relevant economics questions. We view the “Data Science” umbrella as broad, including, e.g.: machine learning, text analysis, innovative methods for working with administrative and archival data, and data scraping or other novel data collection methods. We anticipate teaching opportunities in Data Science methods at the undergraduate, Masters, and PhD level.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in economics, public policy, or other appropriate field is required.
