The Department of Economics at Wofford College invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor of Economics level in any field to start in September 2020.
A Ph.D. in economics (or closely related) is required by the time of appointment; however, consideration will be provided for ABD candidates with expectation of completion by September 2020. For one of the two positions, preference will be given for qualified candidates with experience in macroeconomics and money and banking.
The normal teaching load for Wofford faculty is three courses per semester, plus Interim. The ability to engage in high quality teaching is essential. The successful candidates would also be encouraged to propose and teach new courses to complement the department’s offerings. We also expect an active and ongoing research program, and are especially interested in candidates whose research is conducive to collaboration with students and other faculty. Faculty are expected to serve the department and college through committee work and through student advising and engagement. To earn tenure, faculty are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, continued scholarly development, and service to the college.
