The Urban Institute seeks a strategic leader to serve as its next senior vice president to lead, manage, and support its extensive research program.
Founded 50 years ago by President Lyndon B. Johnson, the Urban Institute is a nonprofit research organization that develops data and evidence to help inform strategies for lifting families out of poverty, promote justice and racial equity, and revitalize communities.
The SVP will partner with a visionary president, collaborate with an accomplished leadership team, and engage across the organization to deliver on Urban’s vision and help craft its strategy for continued impact. Reporting directly to the president, the SVP will lead Urban’s research program and oversee the research vice presidents and senior researchers.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader, superb scholar (with experience in data science and research technology), and proven program builder and fundraiser with a strong interest in policy and practice and a deep commitment to Urban’s mission and to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
