The Supervisory Research & Analysis (SRA) Unit at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a senior economist specializing in banking, financial intermediation, or financial stability. Demonstrated empirical ability is highly valued. Primary responsibilities of the economists’ team in SRA include producing high-quality research for publication in academic journals, advising the Reserve Bank President and senior management on policy issues related to financial stability and the regulation of financial institutions and financial markets, and participating in supervision of large financial institutions. The position involves some travel.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or related field; demonstrated research capability; and excellent written and oral communication skills. A proven research track record (i.e., multiple high-quality research papers) is required, publications in peer-reviewed academic journals are strongly preferred.
