BRAC University is looking to appoint an outstanding academic leader as the inaugural dean for its School of Arts and Sciences. The school offers undergraduate and graduate programs out of several departments including Anthropology, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.

The university was established by BRAC, the world’s largest non-governmental organization that has positively impacted the lives of millions. The university is committed to excellence in teaching, and strongly encourages high impact scholarship that supports its mission to promote sustainable development and uphold human values.

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the inaugural dean of arts and sciences will exercise solid academic leadership to sustain excellence in teaching and learning, promote interdisciplinary scholarship, and generally align activities and introduce initiatives to support the mission of the university. The dean will be expected to initiate strategic planning for the school, lead recruitment of outstanding faculty, improve the visibility of the programs, and engage with key stakeholders.


The inaugural dean will lead by example and be a widely respected scholar. The individual will also have to demonstrate a clear track record of success in administrative leadership positions.
