The Department of Economics at the University of Kansas invites candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Professor in Econometrics. This position includes the endowed appointment of Oswald Scholar, which provides research support and a discretionary fund. The position is expected to begin as early as August 18, 2020.

Candidates must specialize in the field of econometrics. Given the specialization of the position, the successful candidate will be expected to: (1) conduct research and publish on topics involving econometrics, and (2) to develop and teach courses on this same topic and (3) should contribute to the broader university research environment. On these points, the University seeks candidates who present evidence of the potential for high quality research and highly effective teaching. Moreover, the successful candidate will be expected to direct theses and dissertations; perform advising responsibilities; and serve on Departmental, College, and University committees.

Required Qualifications:

1. A Ph.D. in Economics (or a similar field) from an accredited school is expected by the start date of the appointment (08-18-2020).
2. A proven record or demonstrated potential for high quality research and publications.
3. Demonstrated potential to teach effectively both undergraduate and graduate courses.
4. Demonstrated potential to work in collaborative interdisciplinary environments.
