The College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University seeks nominations and applications for several tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in computational social science, with a focus on urban informatics, quantitative methods, or network science, with an expected start date of Fall 2020. Successful candidates will have a distinguished scholarly record using methodological approaches that leverage and work with large/complex data sources to study social phenomena, including but not limited to questions pertaining to cities and communities. We have special interest in scholars whose work includes the use of administrative, scraped, archival, or internet-gathered data. We are seeking scholars who work in spatial, network, or textual analysis, and/or use machine-learning tools. Competitive applicants will also have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and leadership. Faculty appointments will be made in one or more of the member departments of the CSSH, including the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Departments of Sociology and Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, and the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Cross-college appointments are possible. Successful applicants will likely affiliate with one of our research centers dedicated to this work, including the BARI, the NULab for Texts, Maps, and Networks, or the Network Science Institute.
