The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for the Schaeneman Professorship of Innovation and Dynamic Management. The successful candidate is expected to take up the position in the College's School of Hotel Administration and in either the College's Management & Organizations or Strategy & Business Economics areas. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure. The expected start date is July 1, 2020.

The Schaeneman Professor is expected to have an interest in the study of innovation, change management, and/or entrepreneurship and to continue to build a distinguished program of research and teaching in the fields of Management and Organizations (M&O) or Strategy and Business Economics (SBE). It is expected that the candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in their field and/or courses related to innovation, change management, and/or entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will be expected to advise undergraduates, Master's students in Hospitality Management, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. thesis research. All candidates will be expected to maintain a highly impactful program of research and teaching in these areas. Candidates will also be expected to take a leadership role in strengthening the College's research, instructional and co-curricular capabilities related to innovation, change management, and/or entrepreneurship and in fostering collaboration with faculty across areas. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage with the rest of the University through the vibrant Entrepreneurship@Cornell ecosystem. As a requirement of holding the chair, the candidate is expected to teach a course we currently offer in innovation and dynamic management once per year.

Desirable candidates must hold a PhD degree and should be at the interface of entrepreneurship and innovation and various fields, including but not limited to sociology, economics, strategy, management and organizations, and organizational behavior.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the School of Hotel Administration (Hotel School). The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University is the top-ranked hospitality management program worldwide, with undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs. The School of Hotel Administration (SHA) has approximately 800 undergraduates and 60 graduate students. Founded in 1922, SHA has a resident faculty of 65 and over 10,000 alumni worldwide. Important resources available to SHA faculty include extraordinary access to industry leaders, excellent research funding, the Center for Hospitality Research (CHR), and the cultural and intellectual resources of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business and the Cornell University community at large.
