The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position to begin July, 2020, in Macroeconomics. Preference will be given to a candidate with specialization in Financial Economics. The successful candidate will both introductory and intermediate macroeconomics, in addition to courses in the field of expertise. 

Candidates must have experience and evidence of teaching at least one independent class, demonstrate research potential, and have completed all the requirements for a Ph.D. in economics by the start date. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to research and teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment.

Recognizing that intellectual vitality and diversity are inseparable, the College has embarked on a significantly successful initiative to diversify its faculty, student body and curriculum. We seek creative scholars excited about working in a liberal arts setting, with its strong focus on engaged teaching, participation in shared governance, and active involvement in an institution-wide advancement of diversity.

Tenure-track faculty members teach a 3-2 load (2-2 in the first year). In addition to providing ongoing strong support for teaching and research, the College offers the following resources for pre-tenured faculty: a supplementary research fund and a semester’s sabbatical at full salary after a successful third-year review.
