Job Description
The Department of Resource Economics invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions. Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration. Applicants should have a research focus in the area of health economics. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in microeconomics, econometrics, managerial economics, and/or health economics. These positions are intended to initiate and anchor a health economics research area within the Department. Each new hire is expected to develop a nationally recognized research agenda and to become a core member of the new field of health economics within the Department. A wide range of interdisciplinary research opportunities are available across the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus, including through the Computational Social Sciences Initiative and the Institute for Social Science Research.

Requirements
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in agricultural/resource/applied economics, economics, econometrics or a related field as of September 1, 2020. Applicants with an applied microeconomics and econometrics research focus, specifically in the area of health economics will be given preference.

Application Instructions
To apply, submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, research statement and writing samples online at http://careers.umass.edu/amherst/en-us/job/502649/assistant-professor-in-health-economics-2-positions. Applicants should also submit a one-page diversity statement that discusses past or future contributions to inclusive excellence in the areas of research, teaching, and/or outreach.

To guarantee full consideration, applications need to be received by the review date, November 15, 2019. The search will continue until the position is filled. We will be conducting preliminary interviews of candidates at the 2020 Allied Social Sciences Association annual meeting in San Diego, CA.
