Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Division of Health Services and Outcomes Research at Children’s Mercy Kansas City (CMKC) is embarking on a multi-year initiative to enhance the depth and breadth of our academic research enterprise. Over the next five years, we will recruit multiple new colleagues to enhance our existing strengths and/or broaden our capacity to fulfil our mission to improve the health and care of children and their families locally, nationally and internationally. We invite applications from junior and established scholars who can contribute to our mission and want to play a foundational role in the development of our division which includes Health Services and Outcomes researchers, Biostatistics and Epidemiology Core, Formative Research Team and Community and Stakeholder Engagement Group.

We invite applications for faculty positions (rank open) in the areas of Health and/or Behavioral Economics.
We seek qualified individuals with expertise in impact evaluation, intervention design, and econometrics as related to health and healthcare. Candidates who study and apply behavioral economic insights to patient, provider, and organizational behavior and are familiar with economic evaluations of health interventions and services, cost-effectiveness analysis, and decision/economic modelling will be highly desirable. Successful candidates will be expected to educate other faculty on the application of economic principles in health research, conduct original research and/or collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, publish peer-reviewed papers and contribute to efforts to seek extramural funding. Candidates should have a PhD in Economics or other applicable advanced degree.

Consistently ranked among the nation's best children's hospitals, CMKC integrates innovative clinical care, research and academic advancement to transform outcomes for half a million children in Kansas City and across the globe. In 2018, the Children’s Research Institute received $150 million from the Hall Family Foundation and the Sunderland Family Foundation, the largest one-time gift ever made to a children’s hospital for pediatric research. This funding will support construction of a new 375,000 square foot building, as well as extensive investments in faculty, staff, and programs, all dedicated to pediatric research.

CMKC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to increasing the diversity of our faculty and staff and fostering their success when hired. Members of underrepresented groups are welcome and strongly encouraged to apply.
