The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (MSCS) at St. Olaf College invites applications for two full-time, tenure track positions in Statistics or Data Science at the Assistant Professor level to begin in August 2020. A PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or a field of study with a significant focus on computation and data is required, ideally by the time of appointment. Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in and dedication to undergraduate teaching. The normal teaching load is six courses per year including introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in statistics and data science, with opportunities to teach related courses that support thriving programs in mathematics and computer science. We expect that the successful candidates will also help us develop a vision and implement curricular ideas to potentially increase the presence of data science.

Candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an active research program and to contribute to the department’s commitment to research by and involving undergraduates, especially through our Center for Interdisciplinary Research.

St. Olaf’s MSCS Department is particularly interested in applicants who will continue to contribute to our diverse community and broaden our curricular offerings.
