The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College (CRR) is seeking a researcher with a Ph.D. in economics or public policy (to be awarded by August 2020) to study the economics of aging. The ideal candidate will be specialized in the fields of labor economics; public economics; household finance; or health policy for the older population. Candidates should have a focus on U.S. domestic policy.

The Research Economist will be expected to develop grant proposals, produce academic papers and other written products, and mentor junior researchers. The Research Economist will also be involved in identifying opportunities to attract research funding from government, corporate, and foundation sources.

The CRR was established in 1998 through a grant from the U.S. Social Security Administration. Its mission is to produce first-class research and forge a strong link between the academic community and decision-makers in the public and private sectors around issues of retirement and aging.

Interested candidates should submit a CV, cover letter, writing sample, and three letters of recommendation. These should be uploaded to JOE. Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2019 and continue until the position is filled. First-round interviews can be scheduled during the January 2020 ASSA meeting.
