Full Text of JOE Listing:

CBO, a nonpartisan agency that provides the Congress with objective, timely analyses of the federal budget and the economy, seeks an experienced Ph.D. economist with expertise in prescription drug markets to contribute to a variety of projects, analyses, and modeling.

The Health Economist will study how changes to the Affordable Care Act would affect insurance coverage and federal health care spending. He or she will analyze the prices of specialty drugs, considerations for establishing a single-payer health care system, and long-term projections of spending in federal health care programs. The economist will also help design and improve the state-of-the-art analytical models that underlie the studies.
Analysts at CBO are encouraged to pursue independent research projects related to CBO’s mission, to present those projects at conferences, and to publish them in peer-reviewed journals.
