The Central Bank of Chile is recruiting Economists/Senior Economists for its Financial Research Department.

Economists at the Financial Research Department conduct high-quality academic research with applications to financial stability and policy issues. They are expected to publish their work in international peer-reviewed journals. They are also expected to contribute to policy reports, briefing the Board in topics of his/her expertise, and to collaborate in the organization of seminars, workshops and conferences.

The Financial Research Department is part of the Financial Policy Division. It employs PhD economists graduated from U.S. and European universities, as well as Master-level research assistants.

The positions will be full time, open ended, and offers an internationally competitive salary and benefit package.

Applicants should have a PhD in Economics or Finance, or equivalent degree, by the end of 2020. Experienced researchers with a track record of publications are encouraged to apply at the Senior Economist level.

Areas of research interest should preferably include theoretical or empirical specializations in macro-finance, international finance, banking and financial intermediation, and corporate or household finance. However, applicants with other fields of specialization in micro and macroeconomics will also be considered. Well-developed soft skills are required. Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
