Assistant Professor of Economics

Position: The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2020.

Duties and responsibilities: Teach courses in money and banking, intermediate macroeconomics, microeconomic principles, and macroeconomic principles. A normal teaching load is 3 courses (12 credit hours) per semester. Additional responsibilities include service at the university, college, and departmental levels; developing and maintaining high-quality research; and student advising.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics from an accredited institution must be completed by August 2020. Evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a track record of scholarly activity.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: Demonstrated ability to develop and teach courses in economics. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, and the ability to pursue an active research agenda. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Time management skills.

Additional desirable qualifications: Interest in teaching web-based courses and have a background in U.S. economic history and/or behavioral economics.
