Senior Research Scholar or Research Scholar – Global Natural Gas Markets

Center on Global Energy Policy

The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs seeks a Senior Research Scholar or Research Scholar for a major research initiative on global natural gas markets. Successful execution will require generating original research, managing external research projects and communicating research findings clearly and concisely to a range of audiences in a manner that maximizes policy impact, as well as contributing to the Center’s wider research and convening efforts.
Qualifications include:
• Master’s degree in economics or a directly related field, or equivalent in training and experience.
• Significant experience in global natural gas markets, analysis, and/or policy.
• Experience in policy analysis, development or advisory services and management of economic and policy research programs.
• Extensive knowledge of energy economics, international relations, public policy processes, related institutional arrangements, and the substantive policy issues.
• A proven record of successful engagement at senior levels and the ability to achieve consensus and interact effectively with multiple high-level stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to build support amongst partners for better policies, on the basis of evidence-based analysis.
• Proven track record of written research.

Possession of a PhD is a plus.
