U.S. Bank’s Model Risk Management is looking for a candidate with a strong background in analytics and complex statistical models to join our Model Risk Management (MRM) division.
This is a senior-manager role who will lead a team whose primary purpose is to validate, test, document and/or oversee usage of complex statistical models. The models may cover a variety of products or services; however, main scope of the team will be the deposit models. The role is highly technical and requires significant interaction with regulators (OCC and FRB) along with the ability to explain complex items in a straight forward manner.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, and 10 or more years of experience in statistical modeling; OR
•MA/MS/PhD, and eight or more years of experience in statistical modeling
Preferred Skills/Experience
•A degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, economics, industrial engineering, computer science, etc.)
•At least 10 years of hands-on statistical modeling from conceptualization, methodology creation, deployment and validation and ultimately delivering final insightful recommendations.
•Advanced knowledge of various regression techniques, parametric and non-parametric algorithms, times series techniques, and other statistical models, various model validation tests/methodologies, using SAS or similar statistical package
•Thorough knowledge of applicable regulatory rules, guidance, or supervisory letters
•A good understanding of the application and impact of deposit models on firm-wide interest rate calculations
•In depth knowledge of Bank products and services with a particular emphasis on bank deposits (consumer and wholesale)
•Excellent relationship building, communication, and influence skills
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to work autonomously in finding opportunities within a fast-paced environment
•Strong leadership skills, prior management experience in a team-oriented workplace
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills
