The Economics Department of Colgate University invites applications for one or more visiting faculty positions for the 2019-2020 academic year. Although all fields are acceptable, for one position we prefer candidates who can teach intermediate macroeconomics and/or applied econometrics. The field for other positions is completely open, but we are particularly interested in candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach our one-semester introductory economics course. Teaching load is 5 courses per year. Minimum qualifications include PhD or ABD in economics and a demonstrated ability or potential for high quality teaching. Please submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and arrange for submission of 3 letters of recommendation. All materials must be submitted via https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/13672. Colgate strives to be a community supportive of diverse perspectives and identities. All applications should speak directly to the candidate’s ability to work effectively with students across a wide range of identities and backgrounds. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled. Applicants with dual-career considerations can find postings of other employment opportunities at Colgate and at other institutions of higher education in upstate New York at www.upstatenyherc.org. Extensions of appointment are possible but conditional upon teaching excellence and department need.
