Job Description:
As a member of the Investment Strategy Research team, this position will direct and expand research across the Investment Division. Activities will include initiating, fostering, and collaborating on data-oriented projects with other associates involved in investment strategy research, manager research, portfolio construction and analysis, asset allocation and implementation. Many projects will be documented internally to establish corporate memory and others will be published externally to our clients. This position will oversee and create quantitative analysis in support of these research projects and oversee bringing these projects to fruition. This position will provide material guidance to junior members of the team.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
Conducting bespoke research projects on investment topics across all asset classes, strategies and security types.
Strong collaboration skills.
Directing and conducting data collection and analysis of investment managers and securities using R, Python, Matlab, SQL, VBA and various internal tools, databases, and systems
Presenting research and authoring research papers for internal and external audiences
Partnering with associates from around the Investment Division to bring research projects to completion
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

Master's degree or higher required- Finance, Math, Statistics or Economics; Ph.D. preferred.
CFA, or progress towards, preferred.
Understanding of quantitative financial modeling and portfolio construction.
Computer skills including advanced Excel applications, programming abilities (R, SQL, Matlab preferred), and familiarity with analytics software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be an effective team member on projects working across the Investment Division (includes portfolio management, manager research, asset allocation and implementation).
Ability to work autonomously on a wide range of projects simultaneously while directing junior associates.
Proven ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment.
