Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Social Entrepreneurship (Ref.: 493756)

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Social Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Business and Economics (as tenure home) and the Faculty of Social Sciences, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure during the second fixed-term contract.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in the field of economics or business. A beginning record of teaching and research in Social Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation, and Social Policy will be an advantage. The appointee will be responsible for teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and is expected to be active in researching the multifaceted relationship between society entrepreneurship and social welfare and translating the findings into social entrepreneurship practice and social policy intervention to improve the well-being of disadvantaged populations. He/She will contribute to research and teaching on social entrepreneurship and social innovation in both Faculties. Enquiries about the post can be sent to Professor Zhigang Tao at ztao@hku.hk. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
