Hitotsubashi University established the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS) in 2014 with the aim of strengthening a worldwide research network of social sciences and serving as a hub of the research network.

We will have an opening in any field of economics for one Postdoctoral Research fellow who is expected to engage in research along this principle of the HIAS, actively interact with Hitotsubashi faculty and graduate students, and produce research output in the frontier of economics. There are no teaching obligations. Applicants should have received a Ph.D. within the last 3 years, or are expected to receive it within 6 months after the hiring. The HIAS postdoctoral fellow will be employed as a university contract faculty member under the university’s employment rules and regulations. Appointment will be for two years. Applications will be reviewed beginning March 24(JST); all applications received by March 24(JST) are fully reviewed although we continue to accept applications until June 30, 2019(JST) in case the positions are not filled by the applicants of the first group.
