Clarity, a leading Startup with a mission of bringing social impact to markets, is looking for an individual to lead research on Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) ratings. This person will be responsible for ensuring ratings are statistically and methodologically souns. The role includes:

• Assess methodological choices to calculate composite scores.
• Explore statistical properties of data.
• Develop econometric models to support creation of ratings.
• Write code for calculating ratings.
• Conduct robustness and sensitivity tests.
• Propose continuous improvements to the methodology.
• Prepare and present reports and papers.

Requirements:
• Passionate about social impact.
• Advanced degree in economics, finance, statistics, math, or other applied quantitative field (PhD preferred).
• Relevant work experience, including in financial services valued.
• Outstanding quantitative and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with Python or R.
• Self-starter who will thrive in a start-up setting by taking ownership.
• Decisive and action oriented who can get things done.
• English fluency.
