Barclays Research produces differentiated market insights, thematic research and actionable ideas integrated across research disciplines, asset classes and geographies. We are looking for an outstanding researcher to join our macro research team. The successful candidate will lead the execution of thematic, deep dive research reports in collaboration with the Head of Research and the Head of Macro Research. The thematic research associate will:
• Work with senior research management to identify developments in economics and markets that have implications for multiple asset classes
• Develop a research agenda to address these developments, including both theoretical and empirical work, and perform analyses, working with research groups across asset classes and regions as required
• Lead the writing and, eventually, marketing of this analysis

Basic Qualifications:
• PhD in Economics or Finance
• Ability to conduct empirical and theoretical economic and finance research
• Ability to work in a number of different disciplines within those fields

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with econometrics and statistics
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across research groups in different regions and asset classes
