Research Associate (Postdoctoral Scholar) - New York, New York

The Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality seeks to hire a Research Associate (Postdoctoral Scholar) to work on research related to socio-economic inequality in the United States, cross-nationally, or both. The appointment will be for two years, full-time, and will begin in fall 2019. Stone Center Research Associates will produce empirical research, actively contributing to the growing national and international conversation on economic inequality and on feasible strategies, both public and private, aimed at furthering fair, effective, and efficient policy and institutional reforms.

Salary of $87,000/year; plus an allowance for research-related expenditures.

A preferred candidate should have:
• Ph.D. degree in economics, statistics or related discipline. (Applicants must have completed their PhD – or demonstrate that they will do so – by the position start date. Ph.D. must have been conferred no more than seven (7) years prior to the application date.)
• Existing research portfolio that demonstrates interest in, and experience with empirical, methodological, or theoretical scholarship on socio-economic inequality.
• High level of technical skills, expertise in a range of quantitative methods, and experience with complex data sets.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
