The Position:

A research team at the Wisconsin School of Business is seeking an energetic, proactive, social science postdoctoral researcher with an interest in entrepreneurship to join a Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation funded big data research project on student entrepreneurship. The project will produce several papers and is also generating policy relevant insights. The postdoc will coauthor papers from the project. The research may be of particular interest for individuals interested in entrepreneurship, education, and labor market issues. The researcher will not be required to teach.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Be a proactive self-motivated scholar
Have a Ph.D. level understanding of econometrics or statistics
Be skilled in programming in STATA or R
Have excellent written communication skills with a willingness to become a better writer
Have a desire to publish in management journals or journals that bridge economics and management such as Management Science.
Be willing to learn from and engage with entrepreneurs, venture investors, and data.

Candidates with Ph.D. degrees in economics, sociology, demography, political science, or business are preferred. This is a fantastic position for a discipline trained scholar who is interested in transitioning into a role as a professor in a business school.
