The School of Economics at the University of Cape Town is seeking to make one appointment in the area of macroeconomics. The post is at the Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level. Applicants are required to have completed a PhD in Economics or cognate discipline, have an established research record including peer-reviewed publications in internationally acknowledged and ranked/rated journals, and experience in postgraduate teaching and supervising in the field of macroeconomics. A preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the field of money and banking.

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is a research-led, strongly internationalised university, and the only one in Africa included in the Times Higher Education Supplement’s Top 200 world universities. The School of Economics at UCT has a strong research focus and several active research units, with academics that publish in high ranked field and general interest journals. Its PhD programme draws students from across Africa and the rest of the world.
